Regional Retail Success Manager (Northeast)
This role will support retail partners across the Northeast region of the U.S., with frequent in-person coverage of New York City and surrounding markets. Reliable access to a personal vehicle is required.

As our product’s popularity expands beyond DTC, we're rapidly scaling into physical retail channels across the country. As we grow into more brick-and-mortar locations, we're looking for a Regional Retail Success Manager to ensure our New York area retail partners and their customers have exceptional experiences with our brand and products.
This role is for someone who thrives in a field-based environment, loves building authentic relationships with retail teams, and is energized by the challenge of bringing a science-first, premium consumer brand to life in stores. You'll be the trusted face of ZBiotics for stores across the country, ensuring our products are positioned for success while gathering insights that drive our broader retail strategy.
Your Impact
As a Regional Retail Success Manager, you will be the bridge between our brand and the retail shelf. You will be the trusted ZBiotics partner for our most important retailers, transforming their staff into brand evangelists and ensuring every customer interaction on the store floor is exceptional. You'll build and maintain strong relationships with store teams, ensure optimal product placement and presentation, and create authentic excitement around our revolutionary products. Your work directly impacts sales velocity, brand perception, and our ability to expand into new retail channels.
Reporting to the Senior Retail Program Manager, you'll serve as a critical source of market intelligence, helping shape our strategy for how we approach retail expansion nationwide. As we expand, your field expertise will directly inform how we grow into restaurants and hospitality.

Responsibilities
Relationship building and store engagement
- Build authentic, lasting relationships with store managers, associates, and decision-makers through regular in-person visits
- Visit priority locations from weekly to monthly based on strategic importance, optimizing travel routes and schedules for maximum efficiency
- Maintain ongoing, relevant knowledge of our products and the science behind how they work and are developed
- Deliver clear narratives that educate retail staff about ZBiotics products, science, and benefits through authentic conversations and presentations, dynamically adapted to support retail associate capacity
- Create genuine enthusiasm for our products and brand, sharing samples, gifts, and relevant sales strategies
Account management and success optimization
- Serve as the primary point of day-to-day contact for a portfolio of retail accounts, providing an avenue for responsive support and feedback and connecting with them solutions to problems
- Take ownership of the in-store, customer experience by ensuring displays are clean, properly stocked, and visually compelling
- Equip retail teams with the tools and resources they need to enable them to represent ZBiotics products and branding effectively
- Monitor product placement, shelf presence, and promotional performance, taking corrective action or negotiating improvements when needed (e.g., additional placements)
- Coordinate with new store launches and product rollouts in collaboration with internal ZBiotics teams and external retail partners, owning the “first day” experience at new locations and ensuring execution is on-time, on-shelf, and on-brand
- Monitor how our brand shows up online with portfolio accounts, ensuring assets and copy are up-to-date and meeting our marketing standards
- Track and analyze store- and chain-specific performance metrics and feedback, assessing data points like velocity, inventory levels, and customer engagement, providing insights to sales and leadership teams
Field intelligence and strategic input
- Gather and synthesize insights about customer behavior, competitive landscape, and market trends through store visits and customer interactions
- Provide weekly written reports and ongoing CRM updates (HubSpot) documenting store conditions, team feedback, and actionable intelligence
- Support retail strategy development by sharing field observations, insights, and recommendations based on direct market experience
- Develop SOPs, guidance, and training documentation that supports the growth of the Retail Operations team and provides guidance and insight to stakeholders across teams (e.g., store visit checklists, phone scripts, follow up communication, etc.)
- Troubleshoot operational issues in real-time and proactively flag risks, escalating critical problems while implementing immediate solutions
Cross-functional collaboration
- Coordinate with Sales team to provide market insights to inform negotiation strategies and targeting potential leads
- Provide field perspective and relevant insights with Marketing that support both customer campaigns and retail-focused, sales enablement campaigns
- Provide Supply Chain with practical feedback that supports physical-retail-specific initiatives
- Collaborate with external merchandising teams and contracted sales representatives as we scale operations
- Take ownership of strategic projects from launch to completion, owning planning, communication, and feedback in collaboration with the Senior Retail Program Manager
Training and development
- Lead in-store and remote training sessions for retailer launches, new products, and ongoing education
- Develop and execute staff and industry engagement programs including leading events, product sampling demos, retailer sales incentives, and loyalty initiatives
- Create systematic approaches to building authentic product advocates among retail associates
- Support development of training materials and best practices based on field experience, gauging staff knowledge after various types of training (in-person, remote, video, printed materials, etc.)
Travel and physical requirements
This role will support retail partners across the Northeast region, with frequent in-person coverage of New York City and surrounding markets. The Regional Retail Success Manager will own oversight of key accounts including Wegmans (inclusive of store visits and coordination with third-party merchandising partners) and Earthbar locations throughout Manhattan (approximately 15 stores). The following requirements apply to this position:- Regular travel within home territory stores, 3 – 4 days per week
- Up to 2 domestic trips per quarter for launches, events, or cross-region support
- Attendance to pre-scheduled, annual company and strategy retreats
- Occasional evening or weekend support for industry events
- Frequent walking/standing; ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 56 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Reliable access to a personal vehicle

- Retail partners convey high-satisfaction with ZBiotics support and partnership, indicated by additional placements, desire for store expansions, and inclusion of additional SKUs or marketing assets
- Store teams are knowledgeable, engaged, and actively/accurately promote ZBiotics products to customers
- Products are properly displayed, stocked, and positioned for maximum visibility
- Sales velocity increases steadily in managed territories / accounts
- Strong working relationships and execution facilitate smooth launches and promotional execution
Experience

- 2+ years experience in merchandising, product sales or training, a brand or retail ambassador role, or another related position
- 1+ years of in-store retail management experience
- Experience with CRMs or sales/merchandising platforms a plus

The base salary for this position is $125,000 per year, and will include additional equity.
